We Emphasize Healthy Technique
Regardless of your level of proficiency, our skilled instructors will work with you to develop healthy technique. We’re as excited to teach strong fundamentals to beginners as we are to help experienced cellists further their relationship with the instrument. All students at Grace Music School will master the basics, including holding the cello and bow, generating beautiful tone, shifting, vibrato, and strong intonation.
Grace Music School focus on fundamentals is complemented by our emphasis on music literacy, including music theory, sight reading, and ear training. Students will be able to effortlessly translate this well-rounded education into musical maturity, moving quickly toward their goals while learning how to bring nuance and style to their personal performance.

Our Cello Teachers
Steven Madonia
Steven Madonia is a music educator who completed his undergraduate studies at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music and his graduate studies at SUNY University at Buffalo.
TJ Moran
TJ Moran teaches orchestral strings, piano, and ukulele at Grace Music School, where he has been a member of the faculty since 2018. He served as principal cellist at the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, New York, where he was a founding member of the Potsdam Trout Quintet and studied cello performance under Dr. Mathias Wexler
Christina Hart
Christina has a Master’s degree in Cello Performance from UNC-Greensboro in North Carolina where she held the graduate assistantship in the graduate string quartet. She has a 2-year background in NYS Music Education from SUNY Fredonia.
Shiori Chazono
Shiori Chazono, bassist, pianist, composer, arranger, and piano tuner, is currently teaching at Grace Music School and Kellenberg Memorial High School. Originally from Japan, she studied at the Tokyo College of Music, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree in composition.
Patricia B.
New to Grace Music School, music teacher Patricia has enjoyed a varied musical career incorporating teaching and performing, having begun both before entering college.
Arielle Chin
Arielle Chin has been passionate about everything violin related since she was 5 years old. She holds her degree in Music Business from the Crane School of Music with a focus on classical violin studies.
