About Grace Casey
Grace Casey is a piano teacher and performer with a career that began in 2006. She has taught at the collegiate level, serving as an Adjunct Professor at NYU and as a Teaching Artist at the Manhattan School of Music.
Grace’s students consistently achieve musical excellence, receiving top marks in events like Achievement Day and NYSSMA. Students have earned recognition and prizes in various competitions, including the PTA Reflections Composition Contest and the SCMTA Composition Competition. Students have also performed at prestigious venues such as Lincoln Center, the Tilles Center, and Steinway Hall. Grace’s students have also been accepted into music programs at Ithaca, Vassar, UT Austin, and Skidmore.
Grace holds a Master’s degree in Piano Performance from New York University, studying under the guidance of Eduardus Halim, a distinguished concert pianist and former student of Vladimir Horowitz. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music under Philip Kawin. As a performer, she has appeared at renowned venues such as Merkin Hall, Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, the Staller Center, the Cell, and the Bowery Poetry Club, among others across New York City and Long Island.
Active in her field, Grace is a member of several music associations, including the Charleston Music Teachers Association, South Carolina Music Teachers Association, and the Music Teachers National Association. She currently serves as the Vice President for the Charleston Music Teachers Association. She is also a part of the New York State School Music Association and is a Steinway Educational Partner.
