Our Approach to Book $25 First Lesson!
01 Piano Lessons Should Be Fun!
We know that an interest in piano may be what first brings you into our school – but having fun is what keeps you coming back! Here at Glee Music Academy, our goal is for every student to LOVE their music lessons as they embark on a rewarding journey of progress and discovery. We put the “fun” in fundamentals!
Our knowledgeable staff blends a high standard of music education with a creative, student-focused approach that gives students space to discover and nurture their passion for music and the piano. Whether it’s your first time at the keys or you’re a seasoned pianist, our teachers are ready to help you progress quickly toward your goals – while having fun along the way.
02 We Emphasize Healthy Technique
Healthy technique is critical to lifelong enjoyment of the piano. Our first priority is teaching strong fundamentals, including hand, wrist and arm technique, bench position, and pedaling. We believe that full-body instruction is essential to musicianship and safeguards students from injury.
Once the fundamentals are in place, you and your teacher can craft the story you want your music to tell. Our qualified teachers will assist you in developing musicianship and exploring nuance through dynamics, pausing, phrasing, and varying tempos. Learn with us as we infuse elements of music theory and music history into our well-rounded approach to fostering musical excellence.
03 We Care About Your Musical Interests
There is no one-size-fits-all method of piano instruction. Regardless of ability or prior experience, our teachers take an individualized approach to each of our students – underpinned by detailed individual assessments, a personalized learning plan, and one-on-one guidance throughout your musical journey.
While fundamentals and technique are essential, our ultimate goal is to equip students to begin exploring their own personal musical style and interests. Your teacher will work with you to understand where you want to go, and craft a unique plan to get you there. Whether your style is classical or pop (or anything in between), Glee Music Academy helps students excel in their craft while encouraging the occasional step outside the comfort zone to try something new.
04 Performance Confidence & Social Learning
Many students feel anxious about performing in front of others. To ease this, we offer monthly performance classes as a substitute for their regular weekly lessons. Here, in a students-only setting, they can comfortably perform for a smaller, familiar audience. These monthly performances not only reduce anxiety but also provide a consistent goal, boosting motivation and regular practice.
Additionally, we incorporate theory games that transform learning into a social activity, encouraging students to teach and learn from each other. This social aspect not only makes lessons more engaging but also tends to retain students for longer. Moreover, these sessions allow us to delve into extra subjects like composition, songwriting, playing by ear, music history, and more, enriching the students’ musical journey.

“My daughter Anabel was so lucky to start with Glee Music Academy. She is teaching her how to use her voice without harming it. My daughter has been taking vocal lessons for two years with another teacher and she hasn’t had any major results like she had in a few months. Thank you Glee Music Academy!”
“The thing I like most about Glee is the positive atmosphere. I have older children in dance and sometimes the atmosphere is so competitive between the kids. It is so nice to be involved in a program that teaches and promotes the kids to support one another. Huge thumbs up from our family!”
“GOOD NEWS! I was accepted to both Musical Theatre and Acting conservatories at OCSA! I want to thank you for all of your help, support, kindness and time. I truly couldn’t have done it without all your hard work. THANK YOU SO MUCH!”
“The teacher could tell my teen was creative and wrote songs so her assignment this week was to write a song on her ukulele. I couldn’t be more thrilled.”
“I can’t thank you enough for your help with my granddaughter’s audition. It’s just what she needed, and she came back full of enthusiasm and confidence. You went above and beyond. She couldn’t have had a better professional coach.”

Do I have to know how to read music?
No. Beginners are welcome! Our lesson plans aim to educate, engage and inspire students.
Do I need a piano to start taking lessons?
Yes. It is really important to have a piano so that students can develop proper technique, be able to develop a wide dynamic range (volume), and learn how to work with a real piano to create beautiful music. While it certainly is wonderful to be able to practice on a grand piano, baby grand or upright pianos work as well. If you are worried about cost, there are companies in Orange County that rent pianos at a reasonable price. If you have a keyboard, it is acceptable for the first 2-3 months. Contact your teacher for keyboard suggestions before purchasing. After that, please be prepared to make the investment of buying or renting a piano.
