About Shannon Bielski
Shannon Bielski began her musical journey at age seven with her first instrument, the piano. The next year, she began playing her favorite instrument, the violin. When Shannon was thirteen, she began to learn the art of Bluegrass Fiddle, taking lessons with the phenomenal Rickie Simpkins. Her live musical performances began at age fourteen with a Southern Maryland bluegrass band, “The Zekiah Swamp Cats.” Two years later, the band released the album “Driftin’ by Five.” With Shannon’s experience and talent, she won a Public Performance Scholarship to attend the Bluegrass, Country, and Old-Time Music Program at East Tennessee State University in 2010. Shannon taught bluegrass fiddle for the Junior Appalachian Musicians program in 2016. She began teaching regularly in 2018 and has more students now than ever. Shannon enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with students of all ages. Shannon currently teaches violin, piano, guitar, and voice.
