D’Valda & Sirico Annual Scholarships For The Arts

For years now, D’Valda & Sirico has been providing performing arts scholarships to students all over Fairfield County. These annual scholarships are designed to advance and promote performing arts education for children, reaching out to the under-served and underprivileged in our community.

We have spent our lives in the dance world and the past 34 years sharing our passion for the performing arts with children in our community. We have seen first-hand what exposure to the arts can do for a child, building self-esteem, and confidence, and understanding how to set goals and teamwork. Unfortunately, there are scores of children in our own backyard whose families cannot afford dance or music lessons, many with untapped abilities. Please see below two of our amazing alumni who have benefited from our scholarship program.

Programs

Scholarships

Scholarships will be given to students interested in dance classes and music lessons. The scholarships will be given through auditions and completion of a written application. The purpose of these scholarships is to help the underserved youth in the area develop enhanced life skills.

Performance Opportunities

Organization of fundraising shows and performances where professionals and amateurs can work together. Other performing opportunities such as providing entertainment for different organizations or fundraising events also to be pursued.

Outreach Programs

Programs to be implemented into the community providing classes in dance and music in areas where children may not have the opportunity to be exposed to the arts. These classes will be held in public schools, recreational centers and clubs.

Community Partnerships

Partner with organizations that benefit young children and teens to assist in their fundraising events and programs.

“I would not be where I am today if not for the scholarships I received from D’Valda and Sirico. Aside for the great training I am thankful for all of the wonderful life lessons I learned.”

“They taught me how to make a good first impression, gave me freedom to explore other aspects of the dance world (such as photography and costume design), and most importantly, they gave me the confidence to believe that I can do anything I set my mind to despite my own physical limitations or anyone else’s expectations of me.”
