At D’Valda & Sirico, anyone can learn to dance

Building life skills for success. Where our students learn to dance not a dance! We offer classes for all levels from beginner to advanced and recreational.

Our Ballet classes are built upon excellence established by the Royal Academy of Dancing, an international organization with over 90 years of dedication to quality in Ballet education.

The method is effective, safe and progressive. The Academy’s syllabus is known worldwide for being particularly sensitive to the training of young children. Ballet classes incorporate classical training, character work and free movement to help students develop confidence and a sense of self expression. Pointe, pas de deux and repertoire are also included in the well-rounded syllabus.

Our innovative Jazz, Hip Hop and Tap classes are on the cutting edge combining traditional techniques with today’s latest styles. Modern, Lyrical, Contemporary and Musical Theatre classes are incorporated to give the student the most exciting, versatile, and extensive training available. Classes offered are all age appropriate, fun and challenging. Our teaching methods you will not find anywhere else because our staff of Master Teachers have developed their own Syllabi in each style of dance. Our teachers on staff are in demand nation-wide and have extensive experience teaching children of all ages and levels.

Dance Lessons Should Be Fun!

We understand that for 6-12 year-olds, dance is not just about learning steps, but about enjoying the journey and expressing themselves. Our goal is for every student in this age range to absolutely LOVE their dance classes, embarking on an adventurous journey of growth, skill development, and self-expression. We put the “fun” into the fundamental dance steps!

Our skilled team expertly combines comprehensive dance education with a vibrant, youth-focused approach, providing a space for these young dancers to explore their passion for dance. Whether they’re just starting out or continuing to develop their skills, our instructors are ready to guide them in making significant progress, all while ensuring the classes are enjoyable, lively, and enriching.

We Emphasize Healthy Technique

Healthy technique is critical to lifelong enjoyment of the dance. Our first priority is teaching strong fundamentals, including safe stretching, technique, vocabulary, and choreography. We believe that thoughtful instruction is essential to dance development and safeguards students from injury.

Once the fundamentals are in place, you can design your journey. Our qualified teachers will assist you in developing your dance and exploring different styles and programs. Pre-primary

Ages 6-7; develops basic ballet skills and coordination through structured exercises.

Primary

Ages 7-8; enhances ballet foundations with increased focus on form and flow.

Grade I

Ages 8-9; introduces structured ballet sequences and proper alignment.

Grade II

Ages 9-11; focuses on refining technique and preparing for pointe work.

Jazz I Junior

Ages 8-9; introduction to jazz dance, focusing on rhythm and style.

Jazz II Junior

Ages 8-9; for experienced dancers, further jazz techniques and complex routines.

Ages 8-9; intermediate tap, developing skills and rhythm complexity.

What are the qualifications and experience of the dance instructors?

Our team is comprised of passionate and qualified professionals. All teachers participate in our classroom training and background checks. Many have performance experience and/or relevant degrees and are passionate about sharing their love for the art form with the next generation.

Can parents watch or join the kids dance classes?

Yes, parents are welcome to watch the dance classes! We believe in creating a positive and inclusive environment. While direct participation in class may be limited to the dancers, we encourage parents to observe and share in the joy of their child’s dance experience.

What are the fees for your dance classes, and are there any discounts or packages available?

How does the dance school group dancers?

We carefully group dancers based on both age and skill level. This ensures that each class provides an appropriate level of challenge and support for every student. For those interested in a more competitive track, we offer specialized classes and teams, allowing dancers to further advance in their training.

What should my child wear to dance class?

Comfort is key! We recommend dancers wear appropriate dance attire, such as leotards, tights, and ballet shoes. For other dance styles, comfortable activewear and clean, non-marking dance shoes are ideal. Detailed dress code information can be found here.
