About Jenel

Jenel Jansen discovered her passion for dance when she started training with Dance Direction in 1991 under the guidance of Michelle Green Clark and Lisa Clark-Schmeling. She studied Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Ballet and soon joined The Lisa Clark Dancers. Jenel began choreographing and training members of the Lisa Clark Dancers for over 15 years. She co-produced and assisted Lisa Clark on a variety of company projects including when The Lisa Clark Dancers were part of the Top 48 in America’s Got Talent and hired to perform at The National Retail Convention. Jenel has continued to teach and choreograph for local dance companies such as Napa High Spiritleaders, Expressions, and Napa Valley Ballet Academy. Jenel Jansen earned a B.A. in Economics from San Diego State University in 2003 where she also studied dance history, choreography, and improvisation. She received her M.A. in Education from UC Davis in 2006 and is currently an elementary teacher for the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District. Jenel strongly believes in the importance of allowing all children opportunities to express themselves and believes that dance is the perfect tool for this. Her mission as a dance instructor is to ensure that her students feel empowered to reach their full potential in dance and know they can accomplish anything they desire in and out of the studio.
