About Michael Pordesimo

Violinist and Violist Michael Pordesimo began studying music at the age of three. Growing up, he studied under Robin Walden, Peter Rovit, Kathy Hart, and Celina Boldrey. Michael continued to pursue his passion for the violin at Eastern Illinois University, where he studied music performance under Anna Cromwell.

Michael has performed a variety of ensembles including the Danville Symphony Orchestra, the Terre Haute Sinfonietta Pops Orchestra, and the Eastern Symphony Orchestra. He has most recently performed with the Denver Pops Orchestra, accompanied shows at the Syntax Opera House, and performed in Musicals such as West Side Story with the Fireside Theater Company in Evergreen, Colorado.

Since moving to Denver, Michael has taught private lessons with a variety of schools including Accent Music and Global Village Academy. He has also worked with groups of children in several beginning string orchestra programs including with the Colorado Chamber Orchestra.

Outside of his official teaching positions, Michael also served as a clinician to several orchestras in the Jefferson County School District and served as a clinician for Douglas County’s All County Orchestra.

Michael loves promoting independence and free thinking in his students. He wants his students to leave feeling able to play anything they can imagine. In his lessons, Michael has fun teaching improvisation and sight reading, and he’s very excited to help students learn to love music as much as he does! In his free time, Michael enjoys playing Dungeons and dragons with friends as well as building model kits.
