
About JD Cordlé
JD Cordlé has worked as a professional blues guitarist, recording artist, and singer-songwriter for 37 years, and has taught guitar lessons and music courses since 2015. JD first picked up a guitar at age 6 and hasn’t put one down since. He toured the world as a professional singer/songwriter and guitarist, and is excited to share his craft & love for music with students of all ages.
In 1996 JD was signed to Capitol Records, and was nominated for singer-songwriter, song of the year, and new male vocalist of the year (1997) by the international independent recording artists academy of music. He has 12 studio albums and 2 studio singles to his credit, and his songs have received radio play throughout the US as well as in Europe. JD has also received accolades for his teaching, and was voted #1 teacher of the year (2017) for the blues genre in Colorado.
JD performs and teaches many styles of music including blues, rock, singer-songwriter, folk, Americana and more. A master of both acoustic and electric guitar technique, JD has also performed professionally on other instruments including harmonica; mandolin; Wissenborne (acoustic lap steel); lap steel guitar; dobro; banjo; didgeridoo; bagpipes; and Irish tin whistle.
In addition to guitar technique, JD loves working with students on improvisation, lead guitar & soloing, as well as songwriting. He is a patient and encouraging teacher who strives to help his students become lifelong musicians and guitar players, and most of all, have fun doing it!
