About Emma Patterson
Emma Patterson is a vocalist and piano player from Santa Barbara, with a passion for inspiring joy and confidence in music. Emma earned her BA in Vocal Performance from Cedarville University. While her education was classically focused, she also added jazz and contemporary piano and vocal training to her repertoire, and toured with rock bands throughout the Midwest.
After college, Emma moved back to Santa Barbara where she taught elementary music and served as music director for a local church. She also opened her own teaching studio, where she taught private voice and piano lessons to students of all ages as well as group singing classes. Emma loved the community that came from teaching and developing relationships with such wonderful families for over a decade in Santa Barbara, and she hopes to build a new community here in Colorado.
In addition to her teaching career, Emma performs as a touring keyboardist and back-up singer for the indie rock/disco band Dante Elephante, and recently finished a northwest tour with them. She also recently played piano and conducted the pit band for a high school production of Mamma Mia (She loves ABBA, so this was super fun!)
Emma provides a classical foundation with a contemporary vision to her students. Her vocal teaching specializes in musical theater, contemporary pop/rock, and classical art songs, and her piano teaching specializes in beginning to intermediate classical piano playing and contemporary chord charts for pop, rock, and jazz songs. Emma also loves to help students who want to sing and accompany themselves on piano or are interested in writing their own songs.
