About Anna Hansil
Anna Hansil is originally from Roswell, Georgia, and currently serves as the Choir Director at Sunset Middle School in Longmont, Colorado. She earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Colorado Boulder, where she studied voice with Jennifer Bird-Arvidsson. While at CU, she completed her student teaching at Superior Elementary School with Peggy Austin and Skyline High School with Jimmy Howe. Anna is in her third year of teaching, and she directs four choirs at Sunset and co-directs the school musical. She gained her passion for singing in middle school, and is thrilled that she gets to provide positive musical experiences for her students, just as her teachers did for her. Anna enjoys guiding students through healthy vocal technique while providing a positive and safe learning environment. Anna is also a member of the Rocky Mountain Chorale, a Boulder-based community choir. Through RMC, she traveled with and conducted a chamber group of singers to the Alta Pusteria International Choir Festival in San Candido, Italy. She serves as Vice President of RMC and primarily assists with social media and recruitment. When Anna isn’t teaching or singing, she enjoys baking, being outside, and spending time with friends.
