About Anna Ahrens
Anna Ahrens (she/her) is a conductor and vocalist born and raised in northeast Ohio. In 2017 Anna graduated from The University of Akron in Akron, Ohio with a masters degree in choral conducting where she served as graduate assistant to Dr. Marie Bucoy-Calavan. She has also studied one-on-one with several renowned conductors such as Robert Porco (Cleveland Orchestra Chorus), Duain Wolfe (Colorado Symphony Chorus), and James Jordan (Westminster Choir College).
Anna has also had the honor of singing with many different choral ensembles, including the world renowned Cleveland Orchestra and Chorus at Severance Hall (Cleveland, OH) and The Colorado Symphony Orchestra and Chorus (Denver, CO). She is passionate about sharing musical experiences with as many people who have the desire to learn because she believes it has the power impact every area of a person’s life for the better. In addition to voice, Anna also loves teaching beginning piano. She has years of experience working with students of all ages, from young kids to retirees, and is excited to help her students grow as people and as musicians.
When Anna is not conducting or teaching music she can be found most often hanging out at home with her dog and two cats Ravi, River, and Theo, or taking Ravi for a hike. She also works as a personal trainer and loves to help people build strength and confidence while reaching their personal fitness goals. She learned to snowboard for the first time during winter 2021 and is looking forward to a second season trying not to fall too much!
