About Dawn Bohin
Dawn Bohin graduated Cum Laude from the Crane School of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in
Music Education, with a concentration on flute. Her teaching career began with Elementary and Middle
School Music for 4 years. Next she taught for 33 years at Carmel High School, a district awarded one of
NAMM’s Best Communities for Music Education. Over the years she taught several different groups
including Freshman Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble. Her daily schedule
included group lessons for intermediate and advanced levels, for all woodwind, brass, and percussion
students at Carmel High School and Guitar Class. She directed the CHS Woodwind Quintet, earning top
level scores at New York State School Music Association Festivals. Since her retirement in 2022, Dawn
has been teaching lessons to woodwind, brass, and guitar students.
