About Charlie Mann
Originally from Northport, NY, tubist Charlie Mann has performed around the world, at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Brucknerhaus in Linz, Austria, and the National Performing Arts Center in Beijing. Charlie earned his Bachelor of Music at the University of Michigan, where he was a Penny and Roe Stamps Scholar, and went on to earn his Master of Music at the University of Southern California. His tuba quartet made history as the first all-tuba quartet to win First Prize at the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference. Charlie has been teaching privately for ten years and his students have been accepted to All-County and All-State ensembles. His teachers include Fritz Kaenzig, Jim Self, Norm Pearson and the late Toby Hanks. Outside of private teaching, Charlie is the Director of Music Education at Creative Music Center, and freelances with numerous orchestras, wind ensembles and marching bands around the tri-state area.
