Join Mr. Kendall in this 8-week course, where students will strengthen their skills as songwriters by exploring their creativity through songwriting and composition.
Whether your student is a beginner or experienced musician, they will develop their ability to craft original music by experimenting with melody, harmony, rhythm, and lyrics. Through collaborative exercises and guided instruction, they will learn the fundamentals of songwriting while finding their unique artistic voices.
All students are encouraged to bring their instruments and contribute to the creative process right from their seats. Putting effort into your songs outside of class is crucial to get the most out of this course, so be prepared to set aside some time to work on your songs!

What is required to join our Songwriting Workshop?
● Musical Knowledge: Understanding basic chord structures is an important element to unlock your songwriting potential. Students will also need a basic understanding of their instruments and how to play them. String instrument players should be able to find specific notes and chords on their instruments, as well as simple scales.
● Expectations: Songwriting as a group means that you will need to share your ideas. Even if you do not sing, being able to hum or play your melodies and share your lyrics with the class will be a vital part of this course.
● Commitment: Playing with other musicians means that other students will be relying on you to put in the work to have an effective class. Songwriting is a process that can take more than one sitting, so working on your song outside of class is essential for you to get the most out of this course.
