Ask a Cappella Teacher!
Mr. Andrell
Drums
What is your first musical memory?
Way back in 7th grade when I had just started learning drums & percussion, my first middle school band concert closed with Bon Jovi’s Livin’ On a Prayer. That was one of the first times I really let loose and jammed out and it was such a blast!
What inspired you to become a music teacher?
I learned many important life lessons and experienced unforgettable opportunities through my involvement in music. I hope to share what I’ve learned and help position my students to go out and create memorable experiences of their own.
What practice tips and tricks do you have for Cappella Academy students?
It’s not about the number of hours you practice, it’s about the number of hours your mind is present during the practice.
What is the one thing you want your students to take away from their lessons with you?
Anyone can learn to play if you put in the time. Good news is, it’s usually a good time!
