While private lessons focus on the singular student, our Cello Ensemble will focus on group dynamics. Students with cello experience will learn what it takes to work with a group of musicians to perform a cohesive piece.
Join Ms. Petra in this 8-week course, where our cellists will dive into learning the structure and requirements to be in an orchestra and collaborate with other cellists to play exciting pieces!
Our more experienced cellists will take on more of a leadership role by leading as an example, while our newer cellists will be shown what it’s like to play with other musicians and how to play off of the group. Our cello ensemble will also be scheduled to perform at our Spring Recital!
Class Objectives:
– Understand the dynamics of being in an ensemble
– Gain the experience of playing with fellow musicians
– Learn new cello pieces selected by the class and Ms. Petra
– Perform as a group at our Spring Recital

What is required to join our Cello Ensemble?
● Musical Knowledge: Students will also need a basic understanding of their instrument and how to play them. Holding a bow correctly, being able to play clear notes, and understand basic written sheet music is essential for this class.
● Expectations: Students will be required to attend at least 6 rehearsals to be eligible to play in our Spring Recital. Rehearsals must be attended in person at our Bonney Lake location.
● Commitment: Playing with other musicians means that other students will be relying on you to put in the work to have an effective class. Participation in and out of class is essential for you to get the most out of this course.
