About James Cross
James is a modern composer, multi-instrumentalist, and music teacher. He began teaching at Bucktown in 2021 while studying at North Park University.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Composition in the summer of 2022. During that time, James performed as a percussionist in the university band and as a guitarist in the pep band. The main focus of his study was contemporary composition. He composed music of varying styles and arranged a recital for them to be performed along live musicians and 3 short films.
James is happy, just genuinely happy to be here. He spends his spare time musing at any art he can get his hands on and reading medieval tomes. You can find him handwriting his manuscripts by moonlight, or teaching 5 days a week at Bucktown Music.
