Tuition and Fees: All private lessons are $135/month per student. The first month’s tuition and a $35 non-refundable registration fee are due at the time of registration. The regular monthly payment is automatically processed the first of every month to the credit card on file. If lessons begin partway through the month, the first payment will be prorated. Each student is required to keep a credit card securely on file. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
Tuition is based upon 48 classes per year. Days off for 2024 are:
- New Year – 01/01 – 01/02
- Memorial Day – 05/24 – 05/28
- Juneteenth – 06/19
- Independence Day – 07/03 – 07/05
- Labor Day – 08/31, 09/02
- Halloween – 10/31
- Thanksgiving – 11/27 – 11/30
- Winter Break – 12/24 – 12/31
Please note that the monthly payment does not change since these days off are already figured into the $135/month tuition price.
Attendance Policy: Regular attendance of lessons is necessary for progress and continuity. The tuition paid reserves a specific lesson time with your teacher (example: Wednesdays from 4:30-5:00) each week, therefore, lessons cannot be rescheduled.
Make-ups: Make-ups are not guaranteed. If you have to miss a lesson, please provide written notice 24 hours in advance in order to receive a make-up credit. You may email music@bucktownmusic.com or mark yourself absent through our student portal. Make-ups can only be scheduled in the time slot of an absent student. You can see and reserve available make-up times on our student portal or email or call to reserve a spot that works for you. You may schedule a make-up with any teacher, and you are not guaranteed a make-up with your specific teacher. It is the student’s responsibility to contact Bucktown Music to arrange a make-up time, as we will not automatically reschedule your lesson nor will we call you when there is an opening. If you do not provide advance notice of an absence, the lesson is forfeited and not eligible for a make-up.
Make-ups do not expire as long as you are an enrolled student. Bucktown Music does not provide refunds or credit for missed lessons. If you stop taking lessons, all make-ups are forfeited. In the case of a teacher absence, Bucktown Music will provide a qualified substitute.
Inclement Weather, Public Health Orders and Teacher Illness: In the case of inclement weather, teacher illness or a public health order that requires social distancing, all lessons and classes will be conducted virtually through a safe online platform like Zoom. There are no refunds or credits issued for lessons that must be conducted virtually.
Discontinuing Lessons: You must email music@bucktownmusic.com to provide written notice that you intend to discontinue private lessons before the first day of your last month, and lessons will finish at the end of that month. If you are unhappy with your lessons or teacher for any reason, please contact valerie.c@bucktownmusic.com and we will be happy to address your concerns.
