About Herbert Thames
Singer/songwriter/composer Herbert Thames was born and raised in Las Vegas. He graduated from Northern Arizona University with a B.A. in Music and has been involved in music from childhood. He has sung in a variety of groups including the NAU Shrine of the Ages Choir, High Altitude Vocal Jazz and the Sedona Academy of Chamber Singers in Arizona. In addition, he also composes music of a wide variety. He has had choral compositions and arrangements performed high schools in Las Vegas, Arizona and also by Shrine of the Ages. He co-wrote the alma mater for his high school (Spring Valley High School) in Las Vegas.
Herbert has been playing the piano since he was three years old and much of his contemporary music revolves around the instrument. Music should be fun! There isn’t anything more freeing than being able to create and play things you enjoy and the piano and voice are great instruments to do just that.
Herbert likes to teach the patterns of music and tries to help his students find their own voice and sound through their instrument as well as the songs they choose to work on.
