About Anna Wooderson

Ms. Anna Wooderson is a twenty-year public school Music Educator and Private Voice Teacher, holding a Masters Degree in Music Education from Boston University & forty-eight additional Education Masters Credits from Baker University, and a Bachelor of Science in Music Industry and Business Administration with Vocal Performance Certification from Southwest Baptist University. Ms. Wooderson has taught all ages, Kindergarten through University level, in Texas, Missouri and Nevada. Ms. Wooderson is a classically-trained, professional vocalist who performs in a variety of genres including Opera, Musical Theater, Jazz, Gospel, R&B, Pop, Rock and more. She has performed the National Anthem at several Major League Baseball Games, was the Female Lead Vocalist for a well-known Rock-Jazz band in Kansas City, Missouri, and is always looking forward to her next performance opportunity. She is a practitioner of her craft and enjoys sharing her musical knowledge and real world experience with her students, in the classroom and in her private voice studio.

Ms. Wooderson has led numerous vocal students, soloists, ensembles and choirs, through reaching the highest rankings and awards at District, State and National Competitions. In addition to teaching classical voice, she enjoys coaching singers of all music genre stylings in how to sing impressively while maintaining vocal health, power, and stamina.

Prior to her career in music education, Ms. Wooderson worked at Casa Manana Theater in Fort Worth, Texas, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and The Dallas Symphony Orchestra. As a seventeen year dance student, Ms. Wooderson has choreographed show choirs, served as guest clinician, and judged various competitions throughout Texas and Missouri. Ms. Wooderson maintains professional memberships with the American Choral Directors Association and The National Association for Music Education.

As a student, Ms. Wooderson was a selected member of the prestigious Missouri All-State Collegiate Choir, Missouri All-State High School Choir, and Missouri All-District High School Choir. She was a member of her High School’s Concert Choir and Competitive Show Choirs. Ms. Wooderson continued singing in Choral Ensembles, including as a soloist or lead vocalist with the Southwest Baptist University Chorale, Opera Production Department, Chamber Choir and Featured Guest Soloist with the SBU Jazz Ensemble.  Ms. Wooderson was chosen to present Southwest Baptist University Honor’s Vocal Recitals during her Junior and Senior years at Southwest Baptist University. She was the Missouri Music Teachers Association NATS 1st Runner-Up, Vocalist at the Collegiate Level.

Ms. Wooderson believes in the power of positivity, encouragement, attainable goal setting when teaching students to embrace their love and drive for excellence in music. She is a Lifetime Certified Trainer/Life Coach, trained through the 8 to Great: The Powerful Process for Positive Change Program. Ms. Wooderson also takes an interest in teaching students about the importance of enjoying the music and maintaining mental and emotional well-being throughout the potential challenges and growth opportunities presented in the world of performance.
