About Alvin Morris
Alvin Morris is an accomplished bandsman, instructor, and leader. His zeal and love for music coincides with his passion for teaching and sharing the gift of music with others. His wealth of skills and talents is easily reflected through 19 years of experience as a professional musician with the U.S. Army, operating as a performer, leader, arranger, and manager. Alvin is trained in all saxophones used in marching, concert, stage and jazz bands/combos. He is also professionally trained in playing the bass guitar. Alvin has performed in over 10 foreign countries in addition to the United States Audiences. His audience includes heads of state and other dignitaries as well as veterans, refugees and the disenfranchised around the world. Alvin has received a vast amount of awards including the Meritorious Service Medals, six Army Commendation Medals, six Army Achievement Medals, six Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, three Non commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, the Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, and much more. Not only is he passionate about performing but he is dedicated to teaching his students the concepts of music in addition to instilling and cultivating a sense of identity within the music.
