Ensemble Performing Arts Supports American Ballet Theatre’s ABT RISE Program Through Company-Wide Wellness Initiative

At Ensemble Performing Arts, we believe the performing arts have the power to build confidence, connection, and community and that every student deserves the opportunity to feel welcomed and supported in that journey.

This spring, the Ensemble community came together for “Miles Between Meetings,” a wellness initiative designed to encourage movement, connection, and balance across our remote teams nationwide. Created as a collaborative challenge rather than a competition, the initiative invited team members to contribute steps however they could, from walking the dog to taking movement breaks between meetings, all toward one shared goal. 

Team members across Ensemble’s community quickly surpassed five million collective steps, reaching the challenge’s first major milestone and unlocking a team-selected charitable donation. 

After voting as a company, Ensemble selected American Ballet Theatre’s ABT RISE program as the recipient of the donation.

ABT RISE (which stands for Representation, Inclusion, Sustain, and Excellence) was created by American Ballet Theatre to help expand access and opportunity within classical ballet. Through community engagement, mentorship, training opportunities, and inclusive programming, the initiative works to support young dancers from historically underrepresented communities while fostering a stronger sense of belonging in the arts.

The mission behind ABT RISE strongly aligns with Ensemble’s own values. Across our community of music, dance, and performing arts schools, we are committed to creating spaces where students can learn, grow, express themselves creatively, and develop confidence both on and off the stage.

As Ensemble continues to grow, initiatives like this reflect something important about who we are as an organization: a community that values wellness, collaboration, and giving back through the arts.
