About Riley Walter
Riley is an instrumentalist, audio engineer, producer, and artist in Quincy, MA. His passion for music began at an early age, and since then he has been involved in a variety of musical areas such as working as an audio engineer, running sound for live events, playing shows, and teaching private guitar and audio production lessons.
Riley has been developing his guitar skills for over ten years, and he also graduated from The University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Recording Technology and Music Industry. During the course of his studies, he took classes at other schools throughout Western Massachusetts, and he also spent a semester at The University of Memphis in 2019 taking classes in their recording technology department.
Riley is familiar with many genres such as singer/songwriter, folk, rock, R&B, and hip-hop, and he has a flexible teaching style that revolves around the interests and passions of the students. While also delving into fundamentals such as chord fingerings and music theory, Riley strives to help students learn what interests and inspires them and focuses lesson plans around those goals. Along with guitar, he has experience teaching songwriting as well as audio production and audio engineering, and he has helped students and artists develop and produce their own music.
As someone who has been helped immensely by music over the years, Riley strives to help others find and explore their own musical passions. While he agrees fundamentals are important, he considers music to be largely about passion and community, and so he strives to include both of those areas in his lesson plans.
