About Maika
Maika is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and dedicated music educator based in the Boston area. She teachers voice, guitar, and bass with a student-centered approach that emphasizes curiosity, creativity, and building confidence through music. Maika believes every student has a unique musical voice, and she strives to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel empowered to explore, make mistakes, and develop both strong technical skills and genuine artistic expression.
As an active performer, Maika brings real-world musical experience into her teaching. Inspired by artists including Joni Mitchell, Jaco Pastorius, Blake Mills, Pat Metheny, and Madison Cunningham, she regularly performs throughout the Boston and New York City areas, including at Club Passim, the Jalopy Tavern, and the Berklee Performance Center. She enjoys helping students connect the music they love with the skills they need to express themselves, whether they are picking up an instrument for the first time or developing advanced technique and artistry. Her debut album, Insistence, will be released in 2026.
