About Ansar
Ansar enjoys both performing and writing music. Classically trained on piano and guitar from a young age, he has performed and competed both individually and in ensembles. He also plays acoustic and electric guitar, particularly enjoying the genre flexibility of fingerstyle.
His teaching philosophy holds that musical enjoyment precedes and amplifies learning, and that students are far more capable than they often believe. He emphasizes a fun, engaging, yet methodical and rigorous approach while never limiting a student’s potential. As a composer and songwriter, he also encourages creative expression in the next generation of musicians. He has additionally taught chess in public schools.
Outside of music, Ansar enjoys chess, competitive gaming, tennis, exploring new restaurants, and the great outdoors.
He holds a BS in Engineering Physics from Cornell University and an MS and soon PhD in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University. He works professionally as a data scientist.
